DIY Natural Mouthwash

When we talk about mouthwash, it can be easy to assume that we are referring to the kind that comes in a bottle. The kind that is dispenses by the glass-and-tube dispensing machines in most pharmacies and supermarkets, and the kind that you can also find in drugstores and supermarkets. 

The benefits of making your own natural mouthwash can be many. For one, you have full control over the ingredients that are going into your mouthwash.

The five easiest homemade tooth-and-dental-health-promoting mouthwashes include natural substances that are common to household goods, and each contains an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial natural extract.

1) Sage Leaves and salt mouthwash

Some sage preparations and sage preparations are found to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Sage is found to be effective in treating oral and dental diseases.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp of Mineral Rich Salt
  • Fresh organic sage leaves
  • Water

Method:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 spoon of Baking soda
  • 1/2 spoon of salt
  • 1 Cup of water

Method:

Mix baking soda and salt with warm water and use it for your daily oral hygiene. Rinse your mouth well, so the mixture can be absorbed. Your teeth will shine.

3) Herbal mouthwash

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz of peppermint and sage leaves, plus Echinacea Angustifolia root
  • 8-12 drops of mint extract
  • 1 tsp of thyme
  • 2 tsp of Myrrh gum extract
  • 5-7 drops of eucalyptus oil

Method:

Prepare the herbal infusion from the mint leaves and sage leaves and add Echinacea Angustifolia to the mix. Then pour the mixture into a mason jar. Continue shaking strongly so that all the ingredients are blended well.

4) Lemon Mouthwash

Water and lemon juice - Lemon is high in antibacterial, so it is one great ingredient to control dental plaque.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Warm water
  • 1 lemon

Method:

If you have a toothache, drink some hot lemon water. After letting it sit inside your mouth for a few minutes, you should feel better. If not, drink it again.

5) Apple cider mouthwash

Apple cider vinegar has great dental care properties. It will clean your teeth and eliminate bad breath.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1-2 drops Vanilla essential oil

Method:

Make your mixture by combining the liquid with an acid and the food with an alkali to make it safe and preserve it. 

Remember to be cautious of home remedies that can cause harm to your teeth and gums because these homemade formulas may include salt, baking soda or essential oils. If you want to avoid these harmful substances, try to find natural remedies that contain ingredients like peppermint oil, baking soda, and chamomile.
