  • Provide each patient with a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution, and have them rinse before any operation.
  • Frequently touched surfaces and public spaces should be cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis.
  • Patients with urgent appointments should have access to adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Face masks that are disposable should only be used once. As a result, dentists should ensure that the patient's mask is discarded following their session. 

The CDC suggests that dental health treatment for elective dental operations be postponed until the health crisis is rectified. Dentists should collaborate with their patients to decide the best step to take to guarantee everyone's safety.

How to Look After Your Dental Health While Self-Quarantining?

People are being advised to isolate themselves or self-quarantine because of COVID-19. People should take care of their physical health, strengthen their immune systems, be conscious of their mental health, and follow excellent oral hygiene practices during this period. 

This is also an excellent opportunity to teach the kids about good dental practices like as flossing and cleaning their teeth. Because it is unclear when things will return to normal and when everyone will have access to all dental treatments, parents must ensure that their children maintain good oral hygiene throughout this time. 

Of course, effective oral hygiene entails more than just flossing and cleaning one's teeth. Here are some suggestions for maintaining your dental health while on self-quarantine: Brush your teeth at least twice daily. Make sure to brush your tongue as well to keep your entire mouth clean.

  • At least once a day, floss your teeth.
  • Use a toothbrush that is powered by electricity.
  • To destroy bacteria and remove plaque, gargle with mouthwash.
  • Sweet foods and beverages should be avoided. Yogurt and milk can be used in place of drinks.
  • To wash acids out of your mouth, drink plenty of water.
